IPOH: With Christmas just a few days away, those celebrating the occasion are making preparations.
In a multicultural society, the celebration is also expressed through decorations in local neighbourhoods.

Jelapang State Assemblyman (ADUN), Cheah Pou Hian, took the initiative to decorate the road roundabout in First Garden as a sign of celebrating the Christmas festive season.
According to him, First Garden is an important commercial hub within the Jelapang constituency, making it a suitable location to be decorated during the festive period.
“First Garden is a commercial centre that attracts both residents and visitors.
“Therefore, we want to ensure this area is adorned with a cheerful festive atmosphere and to warmly welcome the arrival of Christmas,” said Cheah.

Decorations in the form of a Christmas tree were installed at the roundabout, along with boxes resembling gifts.
This initiative is seen as an effort to strengthen ties among the local community and to enhance the spirit of unity among the residents of Jelapang.
Apart from decorating the road roundabout, Cheah also took the opportunity to extend Christmas greetings to the community in his constituency.
He expressed hope that the celebration would bring joy and peace to everyone, especially those who are celebrating it.
