A Dialogue Across Civilisations – The Polis And The People

by KT Leong
In A Dialogue Across Civilisations, Tan Wah-Piow presents a bold work of political imagination. Across ten scenes—from Washington to Athens, China, and the digital present—history’s great thinkers, from Socrates and Confucius to Marx and Mao, engage in a single, searching conversation. They confront enduring questions of justice, power, virtue, and the survival of dialogue in an age of inequality and polarisation. Blending drama with philosophy, Tan invites readers to re-engage with the debates that shape political life, arguing that the renewal of civilisation begins with the renewal of dialogue.

This dialogue, which will be held on 9 March at 8.30 pm at Symphony Suites, located at 41, Lapangan Symphony Business Park, Jalan Lapangan Symphony, 31350 Ipoh, Perak, will feature panelists such as Dr. Lim Mah Hui, Professor Aziz Bari and Professor Wong Chin Huat.
