Concern for stray animals: public invited to join feeder mapping briefing

By: Aida Aziz

IPOH: Stray animals such as dogs and cats often hold a special place in people’s hearts, especially given their uncertain lives on the streets without owners.

As such, the implementation of feeder mapping, a data-based mapping system to identify locations where individuals regularly feed stray animals, is seen as an important step.

According to Perak Housing and Local Government Committee chairman Sandrea Ng, non-governmental organisations (NGOs) as well as individuals who feed stray animals within their communities are encouraged to register and attend a briefing session on Saturday, March 14.

“We are implementing feeder mapping to develop a more systematic approach to managing stray animals.

“Through this collaboration, we can better understand the situation in each area and work together to build more sustainable and humane solutions in addressing the issue of stray animals.

“Let us take the opportunity to understand the details, raise questions and discuss the matter rationally.

“Hopefully, through better understanding and cooperation, we can find ways towards more effective management,” she said.

The feeder mapping briefing will take place at the Silver Star Theatre in Kampung Simee from 2 pm to 4 pm.
