IPOH: Three entries have been shortlisted as finalists from a total of 11 submissions in the Initial Evaluation and Screening Session for the Design Concept Competition for the Proposed Construction of Pasar Pasir Puteh.
The shortlist follows the competition, which was advertised on March 25, 2026, and organised by the Ipoh City Council (MBI) as the competition secretariat.
The Initial Evaluation and Screening Session was held on Thursday, May 21, 2026, and was conducted by the competition convener, Ar. Noor Afandi Md Noor.


The selected finalists will proceed to present their submissions to the Panel of Judges for Phase 2, scheduled to take place on Thursday, June 4, 2026.
A total of seven panel judges were involved in the evaluation process, including Panel Chairman and Ipoh City Secretary A’zman Mohd Harun; MBI Development Control Director Ts. Muhammad Syahril Sapiran, and Urban Development Control Division Director at the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT), Ar. Mohammad Zaid Saad.
Other panel members include senior architects from the Board of Architects Malaysia (LAM), the Malaysian Institute of Architects (PAM), as well as experienced practitioners, including a previous winner of the Ipoh Central Market upgrading design competition.
MBI extended its congratulations to the shortlisted finalists and expressed appreciation to all registered participants for their commitment and submissions.
