IPOH: Delays in domestic waste collection in Zone 24, covering areas around Botani, Sengat and Simpang Pulai, were recently caused by a breakdown involving a rubbish collection truck serving the area.
According to a statement issued by the Ipoh City Council (MBI) Residents Services Committee (JPP) for Zone 24, the committee had received complaints from residents regarding uncollected rubbish.

The statement said residents had also expressed concern that prolonged delays could result in foul-smelling waste and discomfort for those living in the affected neighbourhoods.
“I contacted MBI’s City Services Department and was informed that the rubbish truck operating in the affected area had experienced technical problems.
“However, immediate action was taken by deploying assistance from rubbish trucks operating in other areas to ensure collection could still be carried out, although slightly later than the usual schedule.
“We thank all parties involved for the follow-up action and cooperation given. Residents are urged to remain patient and continue channelling complaints should there be any issues involving public services in their respective areas,” the statement said.
