IPOH: After nearly four decades in a police uniform, Assistant Commissioner (ACP) Mohd Fahmi Visuvanathan Abdullah will begin his mandatory retirement next week.
He officially handed over his duties as Perak Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID) chief to Superintendent Mohd Ridzuan Nor Ihsan, who will assume the role in an acting capacity.
Mohd Fahmi was appointed as the head of Perak CCID on January 2, 2025, after serving as Deputy Chief of the Perak Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department from January 2024 to January 2025.

His tenure with the Perak contingent spanned approximately two years and five months.
Mohd Fahmi began his career as a Probationary Inspector on September 14, 1986, and accumulated a wealth of experience throughout his four decades of service.
In his farewell speech, he described his role in the force as a great trust that he carried out with responsibility and integrity.
He said that changing times and evolving national security challenges had never diminished the importance of upholding principles, facts and justice.
“Today, I bring to a close a journey of trust and responsibility that I have carried for nearly 40 years in the Royal Malaysia Police.
“On June 17, 2026, one day before my 60th birthday, I will conclude my service.
“I entered the force as a young Inspector who believed in justice.
“I leave as an officer who has learned that principles must be defended, even in silence,” he said in his speech.

He also reminded officers that rank and position are only temporary, while integrity is a legacy that will continue to be remembered.
His retirement marks the end of an outstanding and dedicated career in the nation’s police service.
