GERIK: The 4th Division Headquarters carried out its Jiwa Murni Programme at Kampung Bunga Hilir, Sungai Kejar, as part of efforts to strengthen ties between the Malaysian Army (TDM) and the local community.
The programme forms part of a strategic initiative by the Ministry of Defence aimed at enhancing military-civilian relations through psychological operations and strategic communications approaches.

Its implementation also embraces the Whole of Government and Whole of Society (WOGOS) concept, involving various government agencies, private sector organisations, non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and the local community.
A range of activities were conducted, including health screenings, health and dental education programmes, welfare initiatives, community clean-up activities, recreational sports and repair works on community facilities.

The Pangkalan Hulu District Health Office also participated by providing health screenings for residents, ensuring the programme delivered direct benefits to the community.
4th Division Commander Major General Mohd Shauari Mat Piah said the programme serves as an ideal platform to enhance public confidence in the Malaysian Armed Forces.
According to him, the Jiwa Murni Programme helps foster cooperation, unity and mutual understanding between military personnel and the community for the well-being of the nation.

About 400 participants comprising residents of Kampung Bunga Hilir, personnel from the 4th Division, government agencies and NGOs took part in the programme.
The initiative also supports the government’s efforts to engage with rural communities and ensure the welfare of the people continues to receive attention.

Also present was Temenggor assemblywoman and Perak state executive councillor Datuk Salbiah Mohamed, who expressed her appreciation for the Malaysian Army’s community outreach efforts.
The involvement of the Department of Orang Asli Development (JAKOA) and the Malaysian Tiger Protection Association (RIMAU) further enhanced the programme through community-based and environmental conservation activities.
The organisation of the Jiwa Murni Programme once again demonstrates the Malaysian Army’s ongoing commitment to strengthening military-civilian relations through its “Army with the People” concept.
The initiative is expected to continue serving as a catalyst for community well-being and national security.
