IPOH – Residents’ complaints regarding the use of residential roads by heavy trailers carrying heavy loads along Persiaran Kledang 14, Taman Sepakat, Menglembu, have been resolved amicably.
Yesterday, Jelapang State Assemblyman (ADUN), Cheah Pou Hian, together with the village head, met with residents to discuss the issue.
The meeting also aimed to update residents on the latest developments concerning the access route to the project site.
The landowner has agreed to use an alternative route for heavy vehicles entering and leaving the project site.
This will ensure that long trailers no longer use the residential road as they did previously.
The use of residential roads by heavy vehicles had caused various problems for local residents.
Among the issues raised were dirty and dusty roads, stagnant water after rain, and traffic congestion.
Residents also reported damage to TNB utility poles, as well as concerns over the safety of road users.
The issue received attention after the Jelapang ADUN Service Centre conducted a site visit on August 5 following complaints from residents.
Following discussions and cooperation among all parties, a solution that took into consideration the interests of both residents and the project owner was successfully reached.
Meanwhile, cleaning works to remove rubbish and construction waste illegally dumped at Lorong Jelapang 50/6, RPT Jelapang Tambahan, were also completed by the Ipoh City Council (MBI) last week.
Stricter action, including the imposition of heavy fines, will be taken against those found violating the law by indiscriminately dumping rubbish and construction waste.
