IPOH: Nearly a month of intensive training paid off when the Ipoh City Council (MBI) contingent secured third place in the Best Parade competition at the 2026 Perak State-level National Day celebrations today.
The achievement was recorded in the Local Authorities (PBT), Statutory Bodies, NGOs and Private Sector category.
The MBI contingent took home RM2,000 in prize money and a certificate of appreciation.

The prize was presented by Perak Sultan Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah to MBI Foot Drill Contingent Commander Muhammad Firdaus Hassan.
This year’s MBI contingent comprised 57 parade members and 12 organising officers from various MBI departments.
All members underwent intensive training since August 3 to ensure high standards of discipline, synchronised marching and overall performance.

Their commitment and team spirit were evident through their well-coordinated movements, discipline and energetic performance.
The achievement was also supported by Ipoh Mayor Zamakhshari Hanipah and City Secretary A’zman Mohd Harun.
The accomplishment was a source of pride for MBI staff while reflecting the discipline, unity, teamwork and patriotism among its workforce.
