IPOH – Jelapang State Assemblyman (ADUN) Cheah Pou Hian has urged the police to immediately investigate a road accident believed to be a hit-and-run.
He also appealed to members of the public who were at the scene, particularly motorists with dashboard cameras (dashcams), to come forward and provide any relevant footage to the police.
He said such recordings were important in helping identify the vehicle involved, the direction in which it fled, and the suspect.

Cheah said police should also examine closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage and dashcam recordings available around the scene.
He said a thorough investigation was necessary to determine the cause of the accident and ensure justice for the victim.
In the incident on August 23 at about 8.30pm, a 73-year-old man, Lam Chung Wuong, died while crossing the road.

The incident occurred along Jalan Burung Belibis, in front of Intan Business Centre in Ipoh, where the deceased was believed to have been the victim of a hit-and-run.
The victim was a resident of Taman Menglembu Timur.
Cheah also urged the driver involved to come forward and report to the nearest police station to assist with the investigation.
