The programme, organised by the Perak State Youth and Sports Department, was launched at a ceremony held at the Open Hall of the Perak State Youth and Sports Complex here.
The launch was officiated by Perak Youth and Sports Department Deputy Director, Hafeez Hussien, representing the department’s director.

Also present were representatives from the Perak State Sports Council, Norhayati Abdul Rahman, along with several leaders of state martial arts associations.
Among them were Perak Tae Kwon-Do Association (MGTF) Chairman Lee Wei Kean, Perak Silambam Association President Master Muthu, and PESAKA Vice-President III Samsudin Muhammad.
The ceremony also featured demonstrations of four martial arts disciplines, namely silat, taekwondo, silambam and muay thai.
The performances showcased the unique techniques, agility and discipline that form the foundation of each martial art.

The programme aims to expand public participation in martial arts while providing a platform to identify and nurture new talent.
The initiative is also expected to develop more promising athletes who can compete at higher levels.
Beyond sports development, the KLAS programme also emphasises the importance of building personal identity, discipline and unity within the community.
