Film Director, Assistant and an Artist Arrested for Drug Consumption

Three individuals involved in the local entertainment industry were arrested for possession and usage of drugs yesterday (October 10).

State police chief, Datuk Mior Faridalathrash Wahid said that a raid was conducted at a house in Taman Chandan Putri 2, Kuala Kangsar at around 7.15am.

“During the operation, 1.45g of cannabis (THC) and 0.38g of methamphetamine (syabu) were found, worth RM270 overall.

“Also found were plastic bottles modified for drug consumption.

“The suspects, a film director, an assistant film director and a local artist, are aged between 20 to 40.

“Preliminary investigation found that two of them were tested positive for THC while the other for syabu.

“One of them had two prior counts of criminal and drug-related offences.”

He explained in a statement today (October 11).

Mior added that all three suspects are currently remanded until tomorrow (October 12).

“The case is being investigated under Section 6, Section 12(2) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

“If convicted, they will be subject to a fine as well as imprisonment,” he mentioned.
