Batu Gajah – An estimated 20,000 visitors are expected to attend the launch of the Visit Perak 2024 (TMP2024) and New Year’s Eve Celebration 2024 events.
Loh Sze Yee, Chairman of the State Tourism, Industry, Investment, and Corridor Development Committee, stated that both events will take place at Silverlakes Village Outlet (SVO) in Batu Gajah from December 30, 2023, to January 1, 2024.
“We chose SVO because it is a new tourism product capable of stimulating the local economy in the Batu Gajah, Kampar, and Central Perak areas.
“About 50 entrepreneurs will participate in the sale of food, beverages, accessories, reflexology, and more,” he said during a press conference at SVO on Monday.
In addition to these two events, other activities include the Perak Bike Week 2023, the Finale of the Perak Travel Fair, Wayang Pacak, Muzikustika and Popstarz Competition, Tourism Quiz, and VPY Fun Run.
The launch of TMP2024 will be officiated by the Chief Minister of Perak, Dato’ Seri Saarani Mohamad.
A new tourism mascot, ‘KOPITA,’ was also introduced, which will partner with the previous mascot ‘KOPIRO.’
Loh Sze Yee added that Tourism Perak has formed a strategic partnership with Perak FC, Chek Hup, Grab, Canon, Cactus, and HOVID (Ho Yan Hor) to promote tourism products on their respective social media platforms.
“Promoting through social media platforms can enhance brand awareness widely among customers.
“The collaboration with these local companies results in savings of RM5 million for the State Government.
“Over 100 events throughout TMP2024 at the district and state levels will be conducted with the tagline ‘Promising Perak’,” he said.
