IPOH: The Perak Road Transport Department (JPJ) remains committed to conducting enforcement operations, specifically targeting foreign drivers through Ops Pemandu Warga Asing (PeWA).
Recent operations carried out in Ipoh and Batu Gajah successfully detected offences committed by foreign nationals.


During an operation on 23 June, a lorry was intercepted and inspected, while two motorcycles met the same fate on 24 June.
“In the 23 June operation conducted by JPJ Ipoh personnel, a lorry was stopped and inspected. The inspection revealed that the driver was a foreign national.
“The offences detected were driving without a Goods Driving Licence (GDL), expired motor vehicle licence (road tax), and lack of insurance coverage.


“The lorry was impounded under Section 64(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 and taken to the JPJ Ipoh impound depot for further action.
“On 24 June, two motorcycles were stopped and inspected. The riders were foreign nationals, and the offence was riding without a Competent Driving Licence (CDL).
“Both motorcycles were impounded under Section 64(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 and taken to the JPJ Ipoh impound depot for further action,” the department stated.
