The state government via Digital Perak Corporation Holdings (Digital Perak) has secured a collaboration between the S.M.A.R.T. Niaga@Perak portal and e-commerce platforms through a memorandum of understanding (MoU).
The platforms involved are Lazada Malaysia, Shopee Malaysia, e-wallet payment platform Axiata Digital Ecode Sdn Bhd via Boost app and Axiata Digital Capital Sdn Bhd’s ‘Aspirasi’ platform.
Azrul Sani Ibrahim, Division Secretary of the Local Government Division was guest of honour at the S.M.A.R.T. Niaga portal launch, representing Dato’ Nolee Ashilin Mohamed, Acting Executive Councillor for Communications and Multimedia.
According to Meor Rezal Fitri Dato’ Dr Meor Redwan, acting CEO of Digital Perak, users would receive many interesting incentives offered by respective e-commerce platforms through the portal in view of the upcoming Hari Raya celebration.
“Hopefully, S.M.A.R.T. Niaga@Perak opens up more business opportunities for traditional vendors to promote their products online,” he expressed.
On top of commission fees exemption, Shopee app, through the ‘Shopee Seller’ digitalisation support package, offers vouchers worth RM400, My Ads advertising credits worth RM200 and two-week deliveries free of charge for purchases of at least RM19.
Meor Rezal added that for Lazada, listing fees, commission fees and transaction charges are exempted for 30 days to new traders under the platform’s Smart Shop Package, apart from connections with the app’s ecosystem.
Both platforms offer new traders a free e-commerce training course from Shopee University and Lazada University respectively.
“To assist struggling small and medium enterprises (SMEs) due to the pandemic, the ‘Aspirasi’ platform provides micro-financing assistance between RM1, 000 to RM10, 000 and insurance protection,” Meor Rezal explained.
Traders who would like to register in the S.M.A.R.T. Niaga@Perak portal may head to https://digital.perak.my/smartniaga by the end of this year.
