SERI ISKANDAR: More than 800 seized items from various criminal cases, valued at RM252,200, were disposed of by the Perak Tengah District Police Headquarters (IPD Perak Tengah), including items linked to gambling-related offences.
The disposal was carried out after all related investigations had been completed and official disposal orders had been obtained from the relevant authorities.

Among the items destroyed were 554 Bitcoin mining machines, 24 desktop switches, 24 internet routers, and 26 cables.
All of this equipment was linked to 25 investigation papers that had been concluded between 2024 and 2026.
Apart from the Bitcoin-related equipment, the disposal exercise also involved motorcycles, gambling equipment, smuggled cigarettes, and various other items used in criminal activities.
Perak Tengah District Police Chief, Superintendent Hafezul Helmi Hamzah, said that the exhibits were no longer required as evidence and were therefore disposed of in accordance with the relevant legal provisions.

According to him, the disposal exercise reflects the police force’s commitment to managing case exhibits with integrity, transparency, and accountability.
“This initiative also helps optimise storage space and ensures that the management of case exhibits remains at the highest standard.
“IPD Perak Tengah would also like to express its appreciation to all government agencies, disposal contractors, and media representatives who contributed to the success of the event,” he said.
Also present were the Head of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Perak Police Contingent, Senior Assistant Commissioner (SAC) Razlam Ab Hamid, and the Deputy Director of Operations of the Perak Department of Environment, Hazizi Esa.
