IPOH: The Ipoh City Council (MBI) has taken note of viral complaints regarding the condition of facilities at the Tuanku Zara Aquatic Centre here.
In a statement, MBI said it takes all complaints regarding public safety and comfort seriously, particularly at public facilities that serve as focal points for visitors and families.
It said immediate inspections will be carried out at the site to identify the extent of the reported damages, including drainage grilles, loose tiles, stair rails, locker facilities, shower heads, loose piping, as well as the condition of the ceiling in the public seating area.
“Repair and maintenance works will be carried out according to priority, especially for damages that may pose safety risks to visitors.
“Temporary control measures will also be implemented in identified risk areas to prevent any untoward incidents,” the statement said.
MBI also encouraged the public to channel complaints directly through its official platforms so that further action can be taken more quickly and in an orderly manner.
It said MBI remains committed to ensuring that all public facilities under its jurisdiction are safe, clean and comfortable for use by Ipoh residents and visitors.
Previously, reports on the condition of facilities at the Tuanku Zara Aquatic Centre, published on April 30, had drawn public attention online.
