Ayam Baloq: A Growing Hit in Ipoh!

Mohd Firdauz Mohd Zain, 35, enthusiastically affirms that Ayam Baloq has become a beloved local favourite, embraced by the diverse community in the vibrant city of Ipoh.

“Priced at a reasonable RM10.90, Ayam Baloq unveils a unique flavour profile that caters to a wide range of tastes, as diners have the flexibility to customize their preferred spiciness level.

“This culinary masterpiece is traditionally savoured with steamed white rice, a comforting bowl of soup, a perfectly fried egg, and a serving of crisp, freshly sliced cucumbers, all elevated by the tantalizing  ‘Sambal Gesek.’

“While it may appear uncomplicated, this dish exudes an irresistible charm that perfectly suits individuals with busy daily schedules, allowing them to relish a delightful meal without the need to cook themselves.

“I wholeheartedly encourage you to taste it for yourself, as it’s only then that you’ll fully comprehend the sheer pleasure this dish offers, all at an exceptionally reasonable price,” he passionately expressed during an interview with Ipoh Echo/Peraktastic, conducted at the Signa7ure food stall located at Lot M4 M5, UpTown Ipoh Night Market, Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah Utara, Ipoh.

 

Mohamad Faiz Mohd Fauzi, 32, the owner of Signa7ure, explained that Ayam Baloq can be tailored to the customer’s preferred level of spiciness, ensuring satisfaction even during peak orders.

“Our Ayam Baloq is marinated with a blend of curry spices and special seasoning, enriched with soy sauce and fresh coconut milk, further enhancing the richness and aromatic appeal.

“Despite catering to a large number of customers and handling numerous orders, Signa7ure maintains the highest standards of quality, with customer satisfaction as their top priority.

“In addition to Ayam Baloq, Signa7ure offers other enticing options, including Ayam Kicap Melekit (RM10.90), Laksa (RM7.00), and Nasi Ayam (RM8.50).

“For now, we are focusing on these four dishes, but due to the overwhelming response from the public, we may consider expanding our menu with more exciting choices in the future,” he said.

Meanwhile, Mohd Syaiful Yusuf, 30, the chef responsible for Signa7ure’s unique recipes, revealed that the name ‘Signa7ure’ is derived from the seven key ingredients used in their Nasi Ayam dish, serving as the inspiration for the restaurant’s name.

“Aside from Ayam Baloq, patrons can also savour Ayam Kicap Melekit, a highly sought-after dish, and Laksa, a flavorful blend of sardines and mackerel.

“Signa7ure opens its doors every day, except Thursdays, from 6:00 PM until midnight, making it the perfect destination for a delightful evening of dining at the Ipoh Night Market,” he said.
