Taiping International Youth Band Festival showcases the talent of seven teams

TAIPING: Entertaining and captivating.

The participation of seven marching bands, including teams from Germany and Taiwan, truly brought the 2025 Taiping International Youth Band Festival to life.

A total of seven bands delivered outstanding performances, with international entries from Germany and Taiwan.

Local representatives included marching bands from Alor Setar (Kedah), Sitiawan, and Taiping.

Taipei Jing Mei Girls High School represented Taiwan, while The Marktoberdorf Youth Wind Orchestra came from Germany.

Local bands included Sekolah Menengah Jenis Kebangsaan (SMJK) Hua Lian, Hua Lian High School, and Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan King Edward VII, Taiping.

Also featured were SMJK Nan Hwa, Sitiawan, and Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Sultanah Asma from Alor Setar, Kedah.

The festival not only highlighted youth creativity and spirit but also served as a bridge across cultures and contributed to Taiping’s tourism appeal.

Meanwhile, President of the Taiping Municipal Council, Khairul Amir Mohamad Zubir, said in his speech that the festival is an initiative to celebrate unity, creativity, and youth spirit through band performances.

He stated that this art form not only teaches discipline and teamwork but also acts as a bridge between races and cultures.

“I am very proud that Taiping is hosting this prestigious event, bringing together youth bands from both local and international backgrounds.

“Your presence not only livens up our town but also injects fresh energy into the tourism landscape of this district,” he said.

Earlier, the event was officially launched by Deputy Minister of Education and Member of Parliament for Taiping, Wong Kah Woh.
